Visitors are invited and free to create an account at KEP. Creating an account at KEP allows users to access extra functionalities at KEP, such as creating content, adding comments at knowledge entities without security confirmation, getting emails from other KEP users and more.
In the account creation process, as seen in the following Figure, the user is prompted to fill in their personal information. Personal information is divided into several fields, most of which are mandatory and other is optional. These fields are as follows:

After the registration form is submitted, a message is provided to the user, as seen in Figure:

The user will receive an email, that contains a unique, randomly generated password for the KEP website.
Having completed the steps described previously, the KEP administrator will receive a notification about a new user request. The administrator will choose whether to approve and unblock the user’s request to become a member of the KEP or to decline the request. This manual procedure is required, in order to avoid “pollution” of the KEP with undesired users and content.
